State
Welcome to the State Meet Results Page!
This page contains the results of every athlete on our team who qualified for and competed in the IHSA state finals.
If you scroll to the bottom of the page you’ll notice that Neuqua Valley, just about a year old at the time, had a single qualifier in 1998. Kennedy has told of the legendary Ben Kittleson, but I had never noticed he was only a freshman when he laced up his spikes on the historic blue track in Charleston – the first to wear a Neuqua Valley Jersey at the prestigious Illinois State Meet. Though I have never met Ben personally, as I saw his name in the IHSA’s archived results I wondered if he had any idea when he made that trip that he had begun a legacy. There was no way for Ben to know that the freshly plowed field he drove by as he left Naperville in May of 1998 would one day be the site of an essential stop at Meijer. While Ben didn’t make the finals, many of the men on this list did – and left with state medals around their necks.
This list is proof that over the past decade, Neuqua Valley men have established a strong tradition of striving for excellence at dual meets, invitationals, and the state finals alike.
Ben Kittleson was the first name in a list of dozens that represent the hundreds of men that have run, hurdled, jumped, thrown, or vaulted with a Neuqua emblem on their chests. As you scroll through these names, imagine yours at the top of this page. Then, go lace up your shoes, pick up some weights, and do something about it :)
